The OG Kush flower sample analyzed by Kaycha Labs contains a rich profile of terpenes, with the top eight being Beta-Caryophyllene (spicy, woody, peppery), Beta-Myrcene (earthy, musky, clove-like), and Limonene (citrus, lemon). These are followed by Alpha-Humulene (woody, earthy), Linalool (floral, lavender), and Alpha-Bisabolol (floral, chamomile). Additionally, Fenchyl Alcohol (camphorous) and Beta-Pinene (pine, fresh) are present. These terpenes contribute to the strain’s distinct aroma and potential therapeutic effects, enhancing the overall experience and benefits of the OG Kush flower.

Very clean COA:

  • Total Yeast and Mold: 210 CFU/g (Colony Forming Units per gram), which is within acceptable limits.
  • Total Aerobic Bacteria: 100 CFU/g, which also passed the test. I picked this strain because I have been really feeling classic and older strains, so while this one is only from the early 90s, it’s still high up on my list of “classic strains” I wanted to review as it is WILDLY popular. In terms of genetics it led to the creation of many of the industries most popular strains including Fire OG, Buba Kush, Tahoe OG and many more.

Let’s get into it!

Aroma: 7.5/10

This is a great smelling flower with strong notes of gas, musk, citrus, and earth. I love these sorts of smells and this particular bag did not disappoint when it comes to aroma.

Flavor: 7/10

Tastes as great as this smells. I think the flavor was maybe a bit more gas/earth than any of the other notes I got on the nose. Did not have a hay like flavor or sent at all, which you would think we didn’t have to look out for but here we are. More to come on hay like weeds I have soon… for now this one tastes great!

Feel / Texture: 6/10

Remember beasters? Like c. 2002 dank, dense, rock hard beasters? That’s what this feels like. Upon breaking it up it starts to be a bit easier to work with, and smokes nice in both a joint or bowl. I think I would like it to be a bit more fluffy.

High: 7/10

Great high, nothing fancy here, but balanced and notably stoney if that makes sense. Eyes getting a bit droopy, but also not couch lock either. I will say at 30% this stuff is potent so if you are not a daily user go slow.

Smoke: 8/10

While tough to break up by hand, and rather dense, this still smokes well and is very smooth. Highly enjoyable to smoke.

Overall: 7/10

A decent deal for indoor flower, reliably good strain, this is a decent deal that for many will hit the spot. I would buy again.
